Four Blind Mice by James Patterson is the 8th in the Alex Cross detective series.

Alex is going to quit the force.  It’s time to spend more time with his kids, and Nanamama is not well.  Then his good friend John Sampson says, one more case.  John’s army buddy, Ellis Cooper, is framed and executed for murder.  During the investigation, Alex finds more suspicious executions and frame-ups of army personnel, and they are all leading back to something that happened in Vietnam.  The army is not co-operating.  What are they hiding?

On the matter of romance,  Alex is still wooing Jamilla, and John finally has a love interest.

With the usual short chapters and fast pace, this is another quick read mystery.  Although it is deliberately obvious who the Three Blind Mice are, the Fourth one was tricky.
