Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer is the 3rd in the Twilight Saga.
The Cullens are back in Forks. The wolves are not happy.
When a rash of murders and missing persons in surrounding areas come to light, the Cullens feel it is a group of “newborn” vampires, led by Victoria. They decide to team up with the wolf pack to take them down.
We learn a little more about Rosalie in this one, and why she is dead set against Bella becoming a vampire.
Bella is still confused about her feelings for Jacob, and she wants to keep him as a friend, so Edward agrees that he will not stop her from seeing him. Jacob feels that he has won, and tells Bella he loves her. When Bella kisses him to stop him from fighting, she is more confused.
So Eclipse sees the two groups bonding together against a common enemy. It also sees Bella finally figuring out who she loves.
This was my least favorite of the series. I think it was Bella’s indecisiveness between Jacob (who is a fool) and Edward. Too much childish romance in this one.
Favorite Quote from Eclipse:
“I am Switzerland. I refuse to be affected by territorial disputes between mythical creatures.”
