NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
NOS4A2 by Joe Hill is horror as his father wrote horror. It’s hard not to compare.
Victoria McQueen is a young girl who can “find” things by riding her bicycle very fast over a covered bridge which appears and disappears as needed. This tends to mess with her head a little.
Charlie Manx is a very old man who kidnaps children and takes them to “Christmasland” in his 1938 Rolls Wraith. This also messes with his head a little, but it keeps him young. This trip messes with the childrens’ heads a lot. They become vampire-like and delight in everything torture.
Vic “finds” Manx, and not only does she escape, Charlie ends up in prison. The experience messes with Vic’s head even more.
Years later, Manx comes looking for Vic, and kidnaps her son. Now the real hunt is on!
Horror has it should be written!
