The Seventh Victim by Mary Burton is the 1st in the Texas Ranger Series

First, before I review it….I do not read romance novels, so on that front, I can’t say whether it was good or bad. Thankfully, although the heroine and hero do have some moments, the book was basically a mystery novel, and quite good.

Lara Church has been running for seven years. She was brutally attacked in Seattle by a serial killer, but could never identify her attacker, so she kept on the move. When she inherited her grandmother’s place in Texas, and got a job teaching photography, she decided to settle down. But it looks like the killer may have found her. Texas Ranger Beck and retired Seattle Detective Raines are both involved in this case. But Lara is going to have to recover her memories of that first brutal attack before any progress can be made.

This was actually the first Mary Burton novel I have read.  I will definitely continue with the series.
