Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi
Unbearable Lightness by Portia de Rossi is the story of a young woman with an eating disorder.
The fact that Portia she is an actress/model/celebrity/married to Ellen is not the issue. This tale is the story of her struggle with food. Although the editing in this book could have been better, and perhaps her writing style is not perfect, she definitely gets her points across, and shows she is an intelligent and gifted woman. Not knowing a whole lot about her when I decided to read the book, I didn’t have any preconceptions, so I was able to read it with an open mind. At times her struggle becomes hilarious, but usually so painful. I am sure it took a lot of courage to write it.
One of those books I read because it is “out of my comfort zone”. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, felt a little depressed.
